Mari Martikainen
Textile designer, Master of Arts
Date of birth 24.5.1975
My work in textile art and design is diverse. It includes textile, surface and graphic design and exhibition architecture. I work both independently and in different groups. Collaborations with colleagues from different fields are an essential part of my work.
At the moment I want to deepen my understanding of industrial textile production and broaden my skills with different techniques and materials. I feel it is also important to actively develop and diversity my professional skills and thats why I follow also other areas of design.
During the years I have sold many print designs for local and international markets. I have teached printing technigues in University of Art and Design. During the three years I worked as a visualist in international Finnish company Genelec I Improved my understanding in marketing, color coordination and graphic desingning. My communication skills will ease co-operation and deepen my understanding of companys brand and market targets.
